While Ava & Drew were at my parent's for the weekend, Jeremy & I(mostly Jeremy!) got to work on redoing Drew's room.
This room was our 'home office' when we 1st moved here & we had painted it maroon:
We decided to go with more neutral colors this time around & add a chair rail. The bottom part of the room is now a beautiful chocolate brown & the top is almond. Jeremy is working on the chair rail as I type, and it will probably be up by next weekend.

18 mos & 24 wks
This has been a week full of drs appointments.
Yesterday, was Ava & Drew's 18 mos well-check. The pediatrician was very impressed w/ both of them. Drew showed off many of his skills, while Ava chilled in dad's lap & refused to cooperate(typical behavior, really!).
Drew measured at 27#5oz(60%) & 34 1/4in(90%).
Ava measured at 24#4oz(50%) & 33 1/2ins(91%).
They got one shot each w/ the promise of no more shots(unless we do flu shots) until they're 4!! YAY.
Ava & Drew @ 18 mos:
Then, today was my 24 wk appt. Had to do the glucose test to see if I have gestational diabetes--I DO NOT! Have to say I do enjoy the orange drink--though I was a bit jittery after consuming that much sugar that quickly! ;)
Babies heartbeat was in the 150s. Not much else to report. I'll go back in a month, then start every 2 wk appts! Hard to believe I'm getting that close!

99° & NO a/c!!
Saturday afternoon, as we were getting ready to run some errands & go out to eat, I noticed it seemed rather hot in the house. I checked the thermostat & sure enough, it was set for 75, but was 78 in the house. Jeremy went outside to see if the a/c box appeared to be running right & it was SMOKING!! So, off went the a/c....in came the heat. I stripped Ava & Drew down to their diapers, gave them ice water to drink & coldpacs to play with. They seemed rather unphased by the whole thing. But, boy was momma hot! Fortunately, someone was able to come out that evening & had it fixed by the kids bedtime. I guess we can be glad it happened as the day was ending & the sun wasn't shining right in the windows, instead of noon! :)
A Few More Beach Pics..
I didn't realize that not all of our pics had been downloaded to the computer when I 1st posted. So, rather than add to the other post, here's a slideshow of our last day at the beach:

1st Beach Trip
We spent this past week on the beach at Gulf Shores, Ala. w/ my family & a couple of Casey's friends. It was quite an experience for Ava & Drew: their 1st *really* long car trip(apx 14 hrs), 1st hotel room, 1st vacation, 1st ocean, 1st sand(they DID NOT like it!). And while they weren't fans of the ocean or the beach(Drew found all the sand 'sicko' & would not touch it!), they seemed to have a really good time!! The beach house was plenty big enough for 2 toddlers to run through...complete w/ stairs for climbing:)!
Thanks, Dandy & Noni, for everything!! We love you!

Ava's New(ish) room
About 3 months ago, we decided to move Drew out of the nursery that they had shared since they were 2 months old & into his old room. I knew I wanted to 'girl' the nursery up, since Ava would have it alone, but it's taken some time to get it done. I'm sure I'll still pick up decorations to add, but I think it's looking pretty pink now! :)
The 'old' nursery:

Now it's time to work on Drew's room. Hopefully, I'll have pics to post in the next month or so. It's going to be a bit more work to get it done!

Little Rangers Fans
Noni & Dandy went to a Texas Rangers game last week & brought Ava & Drew some souvenirs:
Going to Rangers games is a favorite childhood memory for me. We always had such fun. I can't wait to take Ava & Drew...though it may be next year before they're ready. At least they look the part! ;)
