Talk, talk, talk

I just love to hear Ava 'talking'. She has a much deeper voice than one would expect & occaisonally she really gives her toy(or me) what for! And, of course, she can't just ignore the camera...:)

Bye bye exersaucer!

I've decided it's time to retire our exersaucer. They still 'fit' size-wise, but since Drew has gotten strong enough to tip it over--and has been trying to do that with Ava in it!--I think it's time it was taken away. Plus, I *hear* they may be getting an early birthday present tomorrow! ;)

We got the exersaucer when they were about 4 mos old. At 1st, we had to put a blanket behind them to keep them steady & phone books under their feet so they would touch!

A totally different picture 6 mos later!

Saying goodbye... :(
Now, I get to tear it down, clean it all up & hide it away before they wake up from their naps. It'll be interesting to see if they even notice! ;)

Poor baby boy...

Drew was up sick much of last night. Fortunately, our 1st touch of the stomach bug wasn't too bad...& so far, Ava has not caught it. Today he seems to be feeling pretty good...although he does lay down & rest a little more often than normal(which would be never--unless it's naptime!:)).

Isn't he sweet!?

Happy Birthday Casey!!

My little brother turns 24 today!!
Hope you have a great day!! Love you Case!

Wrestling w/ a penguin...

Uncle Will(Jeremy's brother) seems to have a knack for picking out great toys that the twins love to play with! Recently, he brought them a musical penguin. It is weighted in the bottom, so it pops right back up when knocked down & everytime you touch it it plays a cute, (though annoying after many days :)) short song.

Drew has started wrestling with it on occasion...he just loves when he gets it stuck on it's side!!

And, not to be left out, Ava decided to give it a try! ;)

And, just like that, we've lost interest again!

Thanks, Uncle Will, for the great toy!!

Chillin' in our robes

I decided to break out the robes last night as it was a little chilly after bath. Unfortunately, they've pretty much outgrown them already. But, they still look adorable! :)

Still loving our swings!

Ava has learned to hold on...and even does it some of the time. Drew has figured out that if he pushes & pulls on the ropes, the swing will turn/shift side-to-side!

Noni, Dandy & Menaw

Jeremy had to be out of town late one day last week, so the twins & I spent the week at my parent's house. We had a great time being taken care of & also got to be with Menaw(my mom's mom) on her birthday!

10 months old!

Wow, another month has already passed! I can't believe I'm already talking birthday parties, one year pictures, no more formula & losing the bottles!! And so much has happened in the past month: Drew is taking steps on his own, Ava is crawling, they're REALLY playing together now, they eat almost only table food--it's just crazy to think about it.

Here are a few pictures from today:

Stairs

Drew's been showing some interest in the stairs the last few days. So far he had only gone up a couple steps....to get to whatever I had sitting on them! Today, he decided to see how far he could go. About 1/2 way up the 1st 'flight', Jeremy came around the corner, so that's as far as he made it. But, he sure was proud of himself! :) Wonder how long till he learns to go down!?

Prison Break :)

We recently bought a baby gate for the doorway between the playroom & kitchen. I don't really like the idea of locking the twins in one room, but this past week w/ 2 mobile babies has shown me the merit of such an idea! It is nice to be able to shut it when I need to change a diaper, run upstairs or when the oven is on. Otherwise, they are free to roam about the house as they please.

So far, Ava had not seemed to care too much about the gate. She had noticed it, but since it's open most of the time, it has not bothered her. This morning, while breakfast was in the oven, she decided she didn't like it one bit & proceeded to try to "break out"! Drew even came to help after a bit:).

Sweet Babies

Drew fell asleep on our walk this morning. He hasn't done that in a couple months! Just had to take a couple pics...isn't he so sweet!?

And pretty Miss Ava....

"Now, I can go after the camera, too!" :)

Ava's CRAWLING!!!!

We're so very excited to share that Ava is now crawling. She's been getting on her hands & knees for a month or so & doing some gymnastics ;), but yesterday morning she decided she would crawl---like she'd known how all along, but just didn't feel like it! We caught it on video this morning:

YAY Ava!!

The swing that Daddy built...

The twins had so much fun at the park swing, that we decided they should have one in their backyard. Plus, that way it's easier for me to let them swing during the day. It only took Jeremy 1 1/2 days to get it done, so we were able to try it out yesterday afternoon:

Ava seemed to like it ok. Though she doesn't really get holding on. Fortunately, it does have straps!

Drew really had a blast in it! He holds on like a pro & seemed to be happy to swing for as long as we were willing to stand outside!

Fort fun

So, we progressed from the tunnel to a much larger fort. Both babies can fit under it nicely & seem to enjoy it! Drew usually tries to 'take it down' at least a couple times a day. No problem...except when Ava's still in it!

*Sorry the video's a little jumpy...I have to hide the camera, so Drew doesn't see it. If he sees it, he must go after it! :)

I just love how he makes Ava laugh! Someday I'll have to post all the videos I've taken of him cracking her up!! :)

Yay for cool mornings!

The weather has been cooler lately & it's made for nice, cold(for a Texan!) mornings for our walks. I had to go out & buy the twins some warmer clothes a few weeks back--they had nothing but shorts & t-shirts! They don't really care for all the extra clothing, but still seem to enjoy getting outside. As long as I get them outside quickly once they are in the stroller, they don't complain too much.

And they're just so adorable in their sweats & hats! :)

About 1/2 way through our walk, Ava usually starts 'singing'. Drew will sometimes join her. It's quite funny, b/c Ava's singing voice is deeper then Drew's!

"My parents are exhausted" !!

My mom(Noni) saw this shirt on another kid & searched high & low until she found them for Ava & Drew. I can't imagine why! ;)

Thanks, Noni! :)
