We *heart* our sippy cups...

Ava & Drew love to play with their sippy cups. Most of the time, they are not actually drinking from them...just chewing on them & occasionally throwing them at things. This morning, I was helping Drew ride 'Raffi' & I could tell he was trying to tell me something. Unfortunately, it wasn't any of the words that he's used before, so it took me several minutes to catch on. He was saying 'CUP'! Over & over...what finally tuned me in was that he started pointing to where his sippy was. AHA--lightbulb moment for mom.
So, I got his cup for him & then, of course, Ava HAD TO have hers! :) They then played with them for probably 3o mins---seemed like they were having the time of their lives! So cute.

Pretty in pink...

I've recently found a new cloth diaper that I just love. The brand is Babybeehind & it is a bamboo fitted diaper(it needs a cover--usually). I bought 3 about 1 month ago to try out &, as I tend to do, I got gender neutral colors(which for me includes blue). So, since we started cloth diapering, Ava's only has a handful of pink diapers that she can call her own! I found this brand on sale a week or so ago &.....my only color choice(that wasn't sold out) was PINK! So, Ava now has her very own PRETTY PINK Babybeehind. Here she is showing it off. (And yes, we're still wearing our Christmas pjs....they fit, so they will be worn! ;))

Driving...

Aunt Jess gave Ava & Drew these adorable ride-on toys for their birthday. This past Sunday, we had beautiful weather & decided to head outdoors & try them out. Neither of them really get that they have to push w/ their feet. But, they seemed to love them just the same! Especially Ava...she would hold her feet up & let us 'zoom' her around the driveway.

Drew didn't really want to hold his feet up. And not long after we started playing, he abandoned the car for the grass.

Thanks, Aunt Jess, for our fun toys!! :)

TV w/ Dandy

Drew LOVES to watch TV. 1st thing in the morning, I'll set him down on his pallet in the playroom & turn on Playhouse Disney. He doesn't sit there all morning...in fact after a few minutes, he generally starts to explore. But, he's so adorable lounging w/ a still sleepy look on his face.
This past weekend, Noni & Dandy came to visit. Drew caught some 'toons w/ Dandy on Saturday morning & they just looked SO adorable together.

Found the wool love!

I began cloth diapering when Ava & Drew were 3 mos old. I started with bumgenius one-size diapers. These were a wonderful starting diaper for us, as they work very much like disposables. Plus, they are able to fit a baby till potty learning. I still use these for outings, but have moved on to more 'breathable' diapers since then. I use mostly prefolds & fitteds with PUL covers at home. These are great most of the time, but the covers don't allow any air to get to the babies bottoms.

I've just recently takent the 'next step' in cloth diapering: wool. I had 2 pairs of wool 'longies' made for Ava & Drew. Longies are like covers & pants all rolled into one. They are so adorable, well-made, & comfy. Best of all, they allow air to get in the diaper--& help ward off diaper rash, which Ava is prone to--while keeping them warm.

Here are a couple of action shots from yesterday. Both Ava & Drew were very interested in the new 'pants'...especially the drawstring.

New Tricks

It's so much fun watching Ava & Drew learn new things! They get very excited when they do something & we praise them. Here's what they're up to right now.

Drew:
says tree('tee'), truck('tuck'), uh oh('uh')
'answers' the phone:
Holds & drinks from his sippy:
Ava:
waves(occasionally)
cruising:

And has even stood alone a couple of times(pretty sure she didn't realize she was!)

Ava & Noni

Drew & Dandy

Kangaroo Climber

Another Christmas gift that has been a big hit is the Kangaroo Climber that Noni & Dandy got Ava & Drew. They had lots of fun with it on Christmas day, but we had to leave it behind when we came home because there just wasn't room in the car. Fortunately, Noni & Dandy came to visit this weekend & brought it with them.

Both Ava & Drew have learned to climp UP the slide, so unfortunately we have had to take that away...as we don't want them falling off the other side. Hopefully, it won't be long before we can put it all back together. They still seem to have fun with it even without the slide!

Raffi the Rocking Giraffe

Jeremy & I got Ava & Drew a plush rocking giraffe for Christmas. Even though it says it's for ages 9 mos+, it's still a little big for them. But, they seem to love it when we put them on it. Ava has spent a lot of time petting it(and trying to eat it!) & Drew will lay on it's back every once in a while.
