Snow Day!

It actually snowed here on Tuesday--BIG flakes, too! I *think* it's the 1st time we've seen actual snow(not just ice) since I've lived here(apx 6 yrs ago)! I was able to take Ava & Drew out that morning when it was really coming down hard. Drew thought it was great. Ava did too....until a big snowflake hit her in the face. Then she was DONE. Sat on the doorstep while Drew & I played. He really enjoyed throwing snowballs at the house.
Then daddy came home from work a little early to help us build a snowman. Drew was ready to go when he got home & they got it started. Ava & I went out after a bit. Fortunately, it was only lightly snowing at that time, so it didn't seem to bother her as much. She finally let me put her down & seemed to enjoy walking in it. She absolutely would not touch any of it, though! Pres had a fine time hanging out in her bouncy seat in the warm house watching a Baby Einstein! ;)
After about 45 minutes, we headed back in to warm up & enjoy some hot chocolate.

Pres @ 4 mos

Presley was 4 mos on Saturday. She is getting to be quite a big girl! She has been smiling, laughing and cooing for a while now, but in the last few days has found her scream. It's very funny to listen to her. She actually enjoys tummy time & has great head control. We've already been using the exersaucer & bumbo.

She adores her big brother & sister & if they are all in the room together, you can bet she will be watching them. It's difficult to get a picture of her w/ either of them where she is looking at the camera! Here is one (of the few) pic of Pres & Ava...so cute.

She had her 4 mos doctor's appointment today. It went very well. The dr was a little amazed at her weight! She is 16#13oz, 95%(up over 4#s from 2 mos ago) & 26 1/2 in, >95%. She also impressed the dr with her head control.

For some reason, Ava & Drew decided they needed to sit in the windowsill while our nanny read a book to them. Silly kids! :)
Lazy, rainy afternoon. Actually, it's not raining right now, but has been most of the day. So, it's too muddy/wet to play outside, so they're camping in front of the Wiggles. And, yes, Drew is still in his pajamas...it's his favorite outfit these days.

They still love sitting in laundry baskets. I don't understand it!

Cowboys & Backpacks

We cheered the Cowboys on this past weekend. Ava & Drew fully decked out in their Cowboys gear from Dandy & Noni(they even wore it to church!). They have no understanding that the Cowboys lost & you'll still occasionally hear Drew shout 'Go Cowboys!'. :)

This is Drew showing Ava her new bedding. We have bought her a twin bed & bedding(just need to go get a mattress) & will hopefully be starting that transition soon. She is already in a toddler bed, so I don't think it will be too much of a process. We need her crib for Pres(who is now sleeping in her own room & is almost too heavy for the packnplay!).

Backpack, Backpack. Ava & Drew LOVE Dora!! I had thought a while back(before we found Dora) that I would like to get them backpacks & let them carry their own 'supplies' when we go out. (It's hard enough juggling 2 toddlers, a baby, assorted bags, infant carrier, strollers, etc etc!) I wasn't sure that they'd carry them & the last thing I needed was TWO more bags to carry. But, once we started watching Dora, I felt like it would work. And sure enough.....I gave them to them before we left for Bible study Wed morning & I didn't think they'd ever take them off. They love putting stuff in them & wearing them around.

Presley

Since I've gotten quite behind on blogging lately, I'm just going to do a couple big posts & combine things. 1st: Presley. She is such a joy. Smiles easily & likes to laugh. Last week, my mom stayed a few days with us & she was really good at getting Pres to laugh:

Pres in her new highchair. Ava & Drew just have booster seats, but I thought it'd be nice for Pres to join us at the table and the booster seats don't recline. Plus, I didn't want to dedicate another kitchen chair to booster seat usage. (Noni is making her laugh again in this 1st one)

Apparently the new chair is quite comfy. She had been in it for about 15 mins & I came back to find this:

We have also pulled out the exersaucer. She has such great control of her head we don't have to 'pad' it & since she's so long, there's no need for books under her feet(both things we had to do w/ Ava & Drew when we 1st tried this out!). Ava & Drew are quite fascinated with their old toy. We've even caught Drew climbing in it. :)

Ava & Drew are both very helpful at pointing out the toys & showing Pres what they do.

Ava's 1st Haircut

Ava finally has enough hair that she needed a cut. I probably would have just let it keep growing, but it was getting in her eyes & annoying her, so a cut was needed. I really like the place that we've found--Drew got his 2nd cut there a while back, and it went well, so we decided to go back for both of them this time.

They let her sit in my lap, which was great. She was very good...no crying or fighting it. She smiled in the mirror, watched the movie & played with her toy the whole time.
